This article presents the currently used driver drowsiness detection.

Abstract for driver drowsiness detection. The system is capable of detecting facial landmarks computes eye aspect ratio ear and eye closure ratio ecr to detect drivers drowsiness based on adaptive thresholding. Statistics indicate the need of a reliable driver drowsiness detection system which could alert the driver before a mishap happens. Nowadays one of the main goals in the development of new advanced driver assistance systems is trustworthy drowsiness detection. Drowsiness and fatigue of drivers are amongst the significant causes of road accidents.

Driver drowsiness detection system abstract. Recent studies estimate that around 20 of car crashes have been caused by drowsy drivers.
